2013 Honda City Diesel Caught Testing?

Scouring the Internet, we recently found that a Chinese website has caught a Honda doing test runs. Well, there's nothing special about that; with the growing Chinese auto market, it is natural for a lot of auto makers to take inputs from China. So what's special about this test mule? Well, according to our Chinese friends, they seem to think it may be the next-gen Honda city. Although the vehicle, as can be seen in the images, is heavily disguised, the front grille and headlamps are clearly visible. The air dams too can be seen roughly.

Considering these factors we must agree as well that this may well be a test mule of the 2013 Honda City. Additionally, we can also make out that the overall dimensions of the car have been increased giving the City a more beefed up look. Keeping the dimensions in mind, we would have to say that this version of the new Honda City may well be an all new model rather than just a facelift.

In terms of the engine, we had already brought to you information on Honda's plans to used their 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel Earth Dreams engine for its upcoming car models. This is the same engine that will be used in the upcoming Honda Amaze. Apart from a diesel Honda City, the car will also be available with a petrol option.
