2011 Force Motors SUV likely to feature OM611 diesel engine

We already mentioned few days ago about the actual inspiration behind Force Motors' 2011 SUV, now we have for you some more details about the features of these SUV's of what actually is cooking up inside it. The OM611 Rail Diesel engine after trial and test is supposed to be installed in 2011 Force SUV.

For over a decade this OM611 Diesel Engine has been verified and been tested. Ever first it was tried on Mercedes Benz E-Class cars which was an old generation car. It was verified as bomb proof and excellent performer. This engine was transferred into their Tempo Traveller LCV series because of the last year's Bharat stage 4 emission norms.

Tempo Traveller is used as a commercial vehicle in India used in taxis and also as carrier goods. This engine proved itself to be reliable and strong along with providing high mileage running smoothly on even roads of India. The Force Motors SUV will be launched in India in July 2011 with a market price of between INR 10 -12 Lakhs. As it will produce 140 Bhp of peak power and 350 Nm peak of torque which is more than the peak torque of competitors Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio. Whereas five speed manual gearbox will be the transmission option. this transmission option will improve the driving experience further. the SUV segment in Idnian auto market is growing day by day and such rich launches will make it even more wide.

Ok can anyone tell me what is the exact meaning of torque & norm, & how does it is helpful & related to engines as i am not aware about all this technical words. Do a engine needs to have high torque & norm for good engine health.
