Do you own a Volkswagen car with the “affected” 2.0L TDI engine? Then you have just won $1000. Volkswagen has announced that the company will provide $1000 for the 2.0L TDI owners in the form of $500 Volkswagen Prepaid Visa Loyalty card and another $500 Volkswagen Dealership card. There is also a no-charge 24-hour Roadside Assistance for three years up for grabs.

According to Volkswagen’s internal investigations, irregularities were found in determining type approval CO2 levels. 800,000 vehicles from the Volkswagen Group are expected to be affected based on initial data, with an estimated cost of approximately two billion euros. The ongoing review of all processes and workflows in connection with diesel engines has established that the CO2 levels and thus the fuel consumption figures for some models were set too low during the CO2 certification process.
