Skoda Yeti Becomes 'Small SUV' of The Year
Skoda Yeti, the compact SUV, which is hugely successful in the international markets has once again proved its dominance in the compact SUV segment. The car has already received many awards and it recently adds another feather to its hat by scooping two awards from respected off-roader magazine Total 4x4. Following revisions to the ‘4x4 of the Year’ awards categories to reflect the changing nature of the market, the Yeti did battle in the ‘Small SUV’ class. Despite the move, the car’s unique blend of practicality and versatility both on and off-road meant it was ranked ahead of all other challengers. And for the second year in a row Yeti won the ‘Special Award for Best Value’.
Skoda has an impressive record in these honours. In 2011 the Yeti won the ‘Crossover’ category and went on to take the prestigious ‘4x4 of the Year’ title. This time last year it topped the same class again and received the ‘Special Award for Best Value’. Total 4x4 Editor Alan Kidd commented: “By changing the categories the Skoda Yeti found itself up against a whole new group of competitors. It took them all on and came out top, displaying the same qualities that have been winning it awards since it was launched.”
He added: “In the past year more than most, we have seen more vehicles coming into the market that represent outstanding value for money.
