Mahindra KUV100 Gets A Sporty Makeover

Mahindra launched the KUV100 in January last year and tagged it as “the Young SUV”. To celebrate its first year anniversary, the homegrown auto major has now introduced a stylish new avatar of the KUV100 but hasn’t given any particular name to it. Well, we aren’t going to bother to try and dig one out. Instead, let’s get straight to the point and see what’s on offer.

K8 Variant:

The most evident change is to be found only on the top-spec K8 variant, which is now available with two options for dual-tone body paint - Flamboyant Red or Dazzling Silver body colour with a metallic black roof. Moreover, the 14-inch alloy wheels have been ditched for larger 15-inch ones and the interior is now draped with an all-black sporty theme. With new additions, the price of the K8 variant starts at Rs 6.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is about Rs 13,000 more than the standard K8 (five-seater) petrol-powered variant.

K6 and K6+ Variants:

The only addition in both the K6 and K6+ variants is that now both of them are offered with 14-inch alloy wheels as part of the standard equipment list. This surely is a welcome introduction but whether it helps in its sales figures, only time will tell.

The KUV100 is available in twelve different variants, with a choice of a diesel or a petrol engine. Apart from the above mentioned additions, customers can further personalise their KUV100 with four accessory kits available - Sporty interior, Premium interior, Sporty exterior and Premium exterior. Mahindra says that each kit comprises of multiple accessories to further enhance the style quotient of the car.

Prices for the KUV100 start at Rs 4.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and since its launch, Mahindra has sold over 42,000 units across the country. Bookings for the K8 variant, with its additional style cues, are open across all the authorised Mahindra dealerships in India.
