Is this the next-gen Toyota Fortuner?
Toyota has started testing the next generation of its highly successful Hilux pick-up based products that includes – Innova, Fortuner. The current Innova and Fortuner are based on the Hilux pick-up while Fortuner and Hilux pick-up share faces with subtle changes but they look quite alike. Now, the next-gen Innova has been spotted testing recently in India and Fortuner in Thailand whereas the new Hilux was been spotted in Europe. As Hilux and Fortuner share faces, the Hilux test mule reveals few details of the upcoming Fortuner which is expected to be launched later next year.

Speaking about the changes, all the three vehicle are based on Toyota's New-Global-Architecture (TNGA) and it's a ladder frame architecture. Like it's underpinnings, the new Fortuner adorns a completely new body making it radically different what current model has to offer. The spotted test reveals the front features a two louver grille flanked around projector headlamps with day-time-running-LEDs. The hood gets two prominent crease lines that merges with the grille.
The new Fortuner features a more streamlined profile compared to the current SUV. Moreover, expect completely new dashboard and updated infotainment system along with added goodies. Speaking about the engine, Toyota is likely to retain the 3.0 liter D-4D diesel motor which powers the current Fortuner but will certainly get power and torque upgrade or might also receive a new engine. By the time it enters India, Ford might also launch its global premium SUV in India which will be our next-gen Endeavour and then there's Hyundai's flamboyant Santa-Fe along with others rivals.
