From what we understand, the EcoSport will be available on sale sometime in the month of June, or May at the earliest. However, we will see Ford doing a lot of digital and ground building campaigns to attract more number of people.

The EcoSport is based on the Fiesta platform and will be available with 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which produces 125bhp of power. The other two engines include the 1.5-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel that already power the Fiesta. The EcoSport is sub 4-metre, this further gives it a duty cut and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine will get the smaller engine excise benefit too. The product looks good and the enquiries for it are high as well. Now all depends on how does Ford market and price the product. The company has been working on increasing the local content and it could have 85% local parts. This will help Ford to reduce the cost of the vehicle and also make the ownership cost more affordable.
