Ford EcoSport could be launched with automatic transmission

Ford India is on a spree of launching automatic cars in India. Today we saw the launch of new Ford Fiesta Automatic sedan which is second in a row after Ford Endeavour Automatic SUV. It does not stop here as indicated casually by Michael Boneham, the Managing Director of Ford India at the launch of Ford Fiesta Automatic. The car speculated to be next to get automatic transmission is Ford EcoSport SUV.

Ford’s unique automatic gearbox which is packed with latest technology might be a part of Ford EcoSport, a probability that has not been denied by Ford India’s officials present at launch of new Ford Fiesta Automatic when questioned. However, Nigel Wark, the Marketing Director at Ford India preferred to diplomatically put it as a possibility while not being ruled out is completely dependent on Ford’s engineering team.
