Alongside 3 new concepts, the Mahindra Vision X SUV concept has also been unveiled. Just like all other SUVs, the Vision X concept is also underpinned by the new Nu IQ platform. This SUV concept appears to be the future design inspiration for the next-generation Mahindra XUV 3XO and the Mahindra XUV400 EV. Here’s how it looks and what it offers.
Vision X Design
The Vision.X looks futuristic and boasts smooth design curves. Up front, it gets muscular contours on the hood, a closed off grille with 6-slat chrome bar and a twin-peak Mahindra logo in the centre, along with sleek LED DRLs. The LED headlights have been placed lower on the bumper. There’s a prominent air dam just below the grille featuring X-pattern, and the bumper also integrates a silver skid plate.
Along the profile, the Vision.X features a thick gloss-black cladding and sits on 19-inch aerodynamically styled dual-tone alloy wheels. Just like the XUV700, it boasts flush-type door handles, but gets NFC access for all four doors. Its rugged appeal is enhanced by silver-finished side skirts and roof rails.
At the rear, it sports connected LED tail lights, and there’s a prominent ‘Vision.X’ marque on the tailgate. To give it a sportier look, it also has an extended roof spoiler with LED brake lights, and a chunky blacked-out bumper that integrates a silver skid plate.

Vision.X Powertrain
Mahindra hasn’t revealed powertrain specifications of the Vision.X concept. However, considering that it has been previewed as the new-generation XUV 3XO and XUV400 EV, it is expected to come in both ICE (internal combustion engine) and EV avatar. Also, do note that the Nu IQ platform that underpins the Vision X supports both ICE and EV powertrains.
Vision X Launch And Rivals
As per Mahindra, the production-ready version of the Mahindra Vision.X could arrive by mid 2028 or by early 2029. Once launched, it will continue its rivalry with subcompact SUVs like Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, and Skoda Kylaq.
