Will Maruti name its compact SUV as Vitara Brezza?
Maruti is desperately preparing for the launch of its first compact SUV in the segment. And why not? When all the other players have already placed their respective products and quite enjoying the sales in the hot segment, Maruti would not sit and relax. The compact SUV codenamed as YBA has been spied earlier also and this time a report claims that the firm has registered a model named ‘Vitara Brezza’ for the Indian market.

Experts believe that since the upcoming compact SUV resembles a lot to Grand Vitara, the newly popped up name might justify the report. The sub-4 meter SUV is designed to counter the likes of Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the list is endless as a number of them are currently in pipeline.
Powering the chunky mini would be the Fiat sourced 1.5 liter diesel engine that is expected to make around 100bhp while an AWD option could also be on cards, for their are a couple of them already in the league.
Well, not much info is available as of now but looking at the past performance of Grand Vitara which has been a clunker since its inception in the market and the looming compact SUV segment, Maruti will definitely come up with a solid product this time. We can expect the official showcase at the Indian Auto Expo 2016.
