VinFast, the Vietnamese carmaker, is preparing to enter the Indian market with its first electric vehicles, the VF6 and VF7. Both models were showcased earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and are expected to debut during the upcoming festive season. Ahead of the launch, the vehicles have already started arriving at dealerships across the country. A set of images from a dealer stockyard shows the VinFast VF6 in its full glory, while some other cars can be seen under wraps.

With initial stock now in India and the launch drawing closer, here is a look at what to expect from the VinFast VF6 and VF7.

VinFast VF6

The VinFast VF6 is a compact electric SUV that stands out with its clean design and striking lighting elements. At the front, it gets a full-width LED DRL strip, with the main headlights placed lower on the bumper for a modern look. The rear has a similar design, with LED tail lights stretching across the width. A dealership unit has been seen in Neptune Grey, but VinFast will also offer it in Brahminy White, Crimson Red, and Jet Black.

Inside, the VF6 gets a dual-tone dark brown and black interior. Soft-touch materials on the dashboard and doors give it a premium feel, while the layout is simple and user-friendly. It is a two-row SUV that can seat up to five people, making it practical for everyday use.

In terms of features, the VF6 comes with a 12.9-inch touchscreen, auto AC, and ventilated as well as heated front seats. Instead of a digital instrument cluster, it gets a heads-up display that shows important driving information.

Safety features for the India-spec VF6 are yet to be confirmed. However, the international version comes with multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS, which includes lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. These features could make their way to the Indian model as well.

The powertrain details for India are also not confirmed yet. But internationally, the VF6 is available in two versions, both using a 59.6 kWh battery and a single front-mounted motor. Here are the specs:

VinFast VF7

The VinFast VF7 is a mid-size electric SUV from the Vietnamese carmaker, positioned above the VF6 in terms of size, performance, and features. The SUV was also spotted testing recently, suggesting that its arrival is not far off.

In terms of design, the VF7 carries forward the brand’s futuristic styling, similar to the VF6, but with a more aggressive and sporty stance. It features sleek wraparound LED tail lights connected by the VinFast logo, while the rear diffuser gets a bold design with reflectors and a roof-mounted spoiler. The front fascia, as seen on the global model, includes signature LED DRLs, projector LED headlamps housed in black inserts, and a wide honeycomb-style lower bumper. Flush door handles and ORVMs with integrated blind spot monitoring also add to its premium appearance.

Inside, the VF7 gets a dual-tone cabin with soft-touch leatherette surfaces and a clean dashboard layout. The 5-seater SUV includes adjustable headrests for all passengers and a large 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, slightly tilted towards the driver. Like the VF6, it skips a traditional instrument cluster in favour of a head-up display for essential driving data. A chunky 3-spoke steering wheel and dual-zone climate control enhance the driver-focused cabin feel.

The VF7 is expected to offer more features compared to the VF6. It will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 360-degree camera.

Safety equipment is also expected to be comprehensive, with multiple airbags, an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, an electronic parking brake and a full ADAS suite.

It will be available in two trims, Eco and Plus, the details of which are as follows:

Other VinFast Cars Slated For India Debut

VinFast has also confirmed that it will offer its smallest electric offering, the VF3 in India, but this is expected to happen sometime next year. The VF3 is a compact, 3-door electric SUV with a boxy design, simple features, and a focus on affordability.

Globally, it comes with a 41 PS rear-mounted motor powered by an 18.64 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of 215 km. The cabin is minimal, with four seats, a 10-inch touchscreen, and basic comforts like manual AC and front power windows.

It is expected to be priced from around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), and will rival the MG Comet EV and serve as an affordable alternative to the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3.

Expected Price And Rivals

The VinFast VF6 is expected to be priced at around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV and also the upcoming Maruti e Vitara.

Prices of the VinFast VF7, on the other hand, are expected to start from Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will lock horns with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Sealion 7 and BMW iX1 LWB.
