Upping The Coolness Quotient Quite Literally: Cars With Dual Zone Climate Control Under Rs 30 Lakh

Published On Jul 15, 2023 10:00 AM By Rohit for Kia Seltos

Only one of the cars on this list offers this feature as standard, and the brand of the car may surprise you

Cars today are different from what they were a few decades ago. They are no longer mere means to travel but are also one of the places where we spend most of our time. So to enhance the in-cabin experience for occupants, carmakers have been making them more loaded than ever before, especially from mass-market brands. Mahindra, Maruti and Kia are a few recent examples of who have broken the segment boundaries when it comes to providing premium features on their cars, including dual-zone climate control. With the Kia Seltos facelift being the latest to get this luxury feature, we have compiled a list of other cars priced under Rs 30 lakh that get this nifty bit of creature comfort:

2023 Kia Seltos

Once launched, the new Seltos will become the first compact SUV in India to get dual-zone climate control. Kia is offering this luxury feature from the higher-spec HTX onwards for the updated SUV. It will also be the most affordable car in the market to get dual-zone AC, possibly until the facelifted Hyundai Creta arrives.

Price: Rs 15 lakh onwards (expected)

Mahindra XUV700

Back in mid-2021 when the Mahindra XUV700 was launched, it created a stir among fans because of its expansive list of premium features previously reserved for much more expensive cars. It was the first Indian midsize SUV to be equipped with some segment-best features including integrated dual displays (10.25-inch each), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and even dual-zone climate control. Mahindra is offering this comfort and convenience feature only on the range-topping AX7 variant of the SUV.

Price: Rs 20.56 lakh onwards

Mahindra Scorpio N

Following the XUV700, Mahindra’s next big launch was the Scorpio N in mid-2022. With the new-generation, the “Scorpio” nameplate dialled up on the premium quotient. It became bigger and more modern, with a whole lot of new tech on board. Among the feature additions was the dual-zone climate control from the XUV700, which is offered only on the top-spec Z8 variant.

Price: Rs 18.05 lakh onwards

Jeep Compass

Probably one of the earliest models on this list to get dual-zone climate control is the Jeep Compass that was launched here back in 2017. With the facelifted Compass, Jeep is offering dual-zone AC on all variants except for the base-spec Sport, but since then the variant lineup has been reduced to fewer options. This has raised the entry point for this premium comfort to the Longitude variant.

Price: Rs 25.64 lakh onwards

Toyota Innova Hycross

When Toyota launched the third-gen Innova towards the end of 2022 – also known as the Innova HyCross – it surprised everyone with some unique characteristics of the MPV and premium feature additions. One such inclusion was of the dual-zone climate control, although it is reserved for the top-spec ZX and ZX (O) Hybrid variants. Unlike other models on this list which offer dual-zone AC for the two individual front occupants, the convenience feature on the Innova Hycross is rather split between the front and second row passengers.

Price: Rs 29.62 lakh onwards

Maruti Invicto

Essentially the Toyota Innova Hycross underneath, the Maruti Invicto – with a few cosmetic revisions inside and out – gets most of the same premium comforts. That includes the dual-zone climate control which is offered only on the range-topping Alpha+ variant. The Invicto is Maruti’s entry into the premium space with prices starting north of Rs 20 lakh.

Price: Rs 28.42 lakh

Hyundai Tucson

The Hyundai Tucson is the only model on the list to get dual-zone climate control as standard. It is also the most premium offering here and only the base variant falls within our price cut off. For now, it is the only car in Hyundai India’s lineup to get this comfort and convenience feature but we expect the India-bound 2024 Creta to borrow the said equipment from the facelifted Kia Seltos.

Price: Rs 28.63 lakh
