Chief vehicle engineer for Bugatti, Jens Schulenburg has recently revealed the company's plans of brining in yet another successor of its most popular coupé, and has also hinted that the Veyron has gone under production and the expected version should be a hybrid. The existing Veyron has been aptly named Veyron Super Sport.

Even though not much has been revealed about the model, Schulenburg said,"The big challenge on the next car will be reducing weight - we are looking at some incredible technologies, such as wheels made entirely from carbon fiber. Hybrids are definitely something we're looking at, too."

The launch date too has not been confirmed, but since the production is in the initial phase, expecting the hybrid version to debut before 2014 would not be feasible. Housing a 8.0-litre petrol engine, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, the existing Veyron produces a maximum of 987 Brake horsepower @ 6000rpm and 1250Nm of torque. It is the fastest street-legal production car in the world, which has a peak speed of 431kmph, so to maintain this image, the all new Veyron should at least exceed 1000rpm mark.

Stay tuned for more updates on the same. Cheers!
