The Tesla Model Y was recently launched in India with prices starting from Rs 59.89 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom pan-India). At launch, Tesla confirmed that deliveries would begin in the third quarter of 2025, with initial priority given to customers in Delhi, Gurugram and Mumbai. The carmaker has now added Pune to this list of priority cities. In addition to this, Tesla has opened online bookings for the Model Y across India. That said, delivery timelines for other cities are yet to be announced.

Tesla Model Y: An Overview
The Tesla Model Y sports a clean and modern exterior with a blanked-off front fascia, connected LED DRLs, and sculpted bumpers. It features a sloping roofline, flush-type door handles, and 19-inch black alloy wheels. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps and a subtle integrated spoiler complete the look.
Inside, it carries a minimalist design with an all-black cabin as standard and a dual-tone option at extra cost. The dashboard is flat and button-free, dominated by a 15.4-inch central touchscreen. A three-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, a wide centre console with storage, and a separate screen for rear passengers round off the cabin experience.
The Model Y is packed with comfort and tech features including ventilated and heated front seats, power-reclining rear seats, a 9-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, an air purifier, and a powered frunk. It also gets an 8-inch rear screen for entertainment and climate controls, along with connected car tech and OTA updates.
For safety, it comes with multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a built-in dashcam. Buyers can also opt for Tesla’s full ADAS suite with features like adaptive cruise control and auto lane change which is offered at an additional cost of Rs 6 lakh.

Tesla Model Y: Powertrain Options
Tesla is yet to disclose the exact battery pack and electric motor specifications of the Model Y. However, the carmaker has confirmed that the Model Y will be offered in a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration and has also revealed its claimed range and acceleration figures. Here are the details:
