The prices are introductory and will be available only for the first 10,000 customers. Bookings for the EV will be open from October 10 and the deliveries will commence from January 2023. The Tiago EV is offered in XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech Lux variants. The base variant can be opted with the smaller battery pack only, while rest of the variants do get both the options.

For the bigger battery pack (on the XT variant), the premium is around Rs 90,000. If you want the 7.2kW AC charger with your Tiago EV, you’ll have to shell out Rs 50,000 more. Compared to the regular top-spec Tiago AMT, the base-spec Tiago EV demands Rs 68,000 more.

Does It Look Different Than ICE Tiago?

Not by a huge difference. The Tiago EV does get some EV-specific visual elements like the closed off grille, blue inserts, new design for the wheels, new colours, and the ‘EV’ badging. Other than that, the EV doesn’t carry any differences compared to the ICE-powered Tiago.

Talking about the cabin, even here, the changes are subtle. The dashboard sports the blue inserts and you also get the ‘Tri-arrow’ elements on the new leatherette seats. Save for these, the cabin looks identical to the regular Tiago.

More Features?

Tata Tiago EV Interior

The Tiago EV gains automatic headlamps, cruise control, connected car technology with limited remote operation, rain-sensing wipers, and regenerative braking over its ICE-powered version. Its Z-Connect tech gets remote geo-fencing, smartwatch connectivity, diagnostic reports, and on phone/watch range and battery details.

Besides that, the electric hatchback continues with features such as a seven-inch touchscreen system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an eight-speaker sound system, automatic AC, push-button start-stop, cooled glove box and a digital instrument cluster.

Safety should be covered by dual airbags, rear parking sensors, i-TPMS and cornering stability control. Like the Tigor EV, the electric Tiago gets four stars in the global NCAP crash test.

The Tiago EV uses two battery packs - one for your long distance drives and one for the short runabouts. The 24kWh battery pack is smaller than the Tigor EV’s 26kWH battery, but offers a slightly better range at 315km, compared to the latter’s 306 km.

You can choose between ‘City’ and ‘Sport’ modes and the EV (24kWh variants) can sprint from 0-60kmph in 5.7 seconds. With adjustable (four-level) regenerative braking, the driving range can further be improved.

You can charge the Tiago EV from 10 to 80 per cent in just 57 minutes with a DC fast charger. This applies to both battery packs. With an AC 7.2kW fast charger, the 24kWh battery can be fully juiced up in three hours and 36 minutes, while the smaller battery takes 2.6 hours for the same.

Other than that, both battery packs can also be charged using a 3.3kW AC charger and a 15A socket. The battery pack and motor get a warranty of eight years/1.6 lakh km, whichever is earlier.
