On launching the campaign last year, UK Prime Minister, David Cameron said: “This campaign is simple. There are so many great things about Britain and we want to send out the message loud and proud that this a great place to do business, to invest, to study and to visit.” The British High Commissioner, Mr James Bevan CMG echoed these sentiments, praising the involvement of firms like Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in showcasing the very best of Britain in India: “Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a great British success story, their achievements in India and across the globe are a shining example of British craftsmanship, design and business prowess.”

He added “The extraordinary motor car on display today is a testament to the talents of the craftspeople at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England and a fine example of British manufacturing excellence.” The Delhi reception formed part of UK Trade & Investment’s push to benefit from the attention Britain will receive from the 2012 Olympics and Diamond Jubilee. They have set a target of boosting British business by £1 Billion as a direct result of these activities.

Paul Harris, Regional Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Asia-Pacific said: “The success we have enjoyed across India and Asia-Pacific has underpinned the overall progress of the brand. Strong demand in 2011 led to expansion at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England and the creation of highly-skilled jobs for Bespoke craftspeople to meet demand.” He added: “Recent expansion in India, including the appointment of dealerships in Hyderabad and Chandigarh to supplement our established bases in New Delhi and Mumbai adds yet another chapter to the extraordinary story of Rolls-Royce in India, something of a second spiritual home for the marque.”
