The covers are off from the 2013 model for R8 facelift prior to the Paris Motor Show which is due, September. The new R8 will see a few minor uplifts on the exteriors and interiors along with some changes under the hood. The 2013 R8 is expected to reach the Europe market around end of this year and will reach U.S.A by the first quarter next year. In German the price for the V8 Coupe will be € 113,500, the V8 Spyder will be € 124,800, the V10 coupe will be tagged at € 154,600 and the V10 Spyder will be tagged at € 165,900. The priciest of the lot will be the R8 V10, marked at € 173,200.

The 7-speed S-tronic dual clutch transmission has been added to replace the previous 6-speed automated manual R-tronic. It will sport a new revamped fascia with new LED headlamps, a redesigned bumper, and new set of LED tail lights, re-styled R8-logo etc. The interiors are slightly modified. The changes are limited to the instrument pane and paddles. There is a Nappa full-leather treatment for seats, door panels and lining.

Under the hood, the 4.2-litre V8 and 5.2-litre V10 have remained unchanged. To refresh your memory about the power that these mills are capable of, the 4.2-litre V8 churns out a 424bhp of power along with a torque of 430Nm and the 5.2-litre V10, produces 518bhp with 530Nm of peak torque. The 7-Speed S-tronic has helped reduce the carbon emissions. Along with this, a 6-speed manual gearbox will also be offered.  The V8 coupe for 2013 Audi R8, it takes approximately 4.3 seconds to accelerate from 0-100kmph whereas, the R8 V10 can do the same in 3.6 seconds. The top speed for the V8 is 300kmph and for V10, it is nearly 314kmph.

There is a Wave design for the brake disks. The overall weight has been reduced by nearly 2kgs with this new brake design which replaced the round disks. The wheel size is 18inch and the tyre size for the V8 is the 235/40 and 285/35 for front and rear, respectively. The same for V10 is 19inch with 235/35 tyre in front and 295/30 at the rear.

The primary model for this series is powered by a V10, 5.2-litre mill that churns out 542bhp and a torque of 540Nm at 6500rpm. There will be a new V10 Plus which is expected to replace the 560bhp GT models. This model however, will be offered as a coupe only. The V10 Plus will have carbon fiber package which will be present for the front splitter, mirror housing, side blades and vents. This model will have special springs and shock absorbers along with standard magnetic ride adaptive damping.

The all-electric version with e-Tron moniker of Audi R8 is expected to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show.
