Nissan Micra Diesel to be launched soon

Nissan Motor India Pvt Limited  has announced that it will soon bring out the Nissan Micra Diesel, the diesel variant of its recently launched model, Nissan Micra in India. Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director and CEO stated that that the company will be bringing the diesel variant of its latest small car model Micra in India before the end of this year. The company will also commence exports of Nissan Micra to overseas market from this month. He further said that the company will begin shipping Micra models to overseas markets - European, Middle East and African markets from their plant in Chennai from this month.

Also, Nissan is planning to introduce nine new models in the Indian market by 2012. Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director and CEO stated that company’s product launch plan to India is aggressive, as NMIPL has planned to line-up nine models by 2012, of which five models will be produced in India and four models will be the imports from Japan. 

Tokuyama also commented that the first milestone of Nissan is to have more than 100 dealerships across India and achieve sales target of more than one lakh units annually. He further stated that Nissan sold 928 units of Micra all across India in July. On the other hand, it sold 1249 units in August 2010. Nissan currently retails SUV Nissan X-Trail, luxury sedan Nissan Teana and sports model Nissan 370Z in India apart from its hatchback model Nissan Micra. This year on July 15, the Nissan Micra was launched in the Indian market.
