Mitsubishi EVO XI expected to be launched in 2014
The Japanese automaker Mitsubishi is said to initiate a new project on Mitsubishi Lancer EVO hybrid version in 2012. Osamu Masuko, the president of Mitsubishi without getting into the technical details, had recently confirmed that the new generation EVO XI will be a diesel-hybrid model. The changes brought into the new car are to bring down the emissions for maintaining greener environment. The Mitsubishi EVO hybrid is expected to be launched in 2014.
The outgoing EVO is well-known for its 0-100 kmph acceleration at mere 6.6 seconds and easy handling on the roads. The company aims to retain its comfortable handling and spectacular performance, while incorporating the changes in terms of emissions and engine by considering all the customer feedback to produce a much efficient car. The next-generation Mitsubishi Lancer is their first advancement in the hybrid engine technology, which is otherwise synonymous for its mighty 4x4 drive sedans. Moreover, the company is believed to come up with a punch line “EVO-XI Its Green and goes like stink” to emphasize on the reduced emissions of the new EVO with the diesel-hybrid engine and the faster paced car.
The India bound Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is offered in the country with a powerful 2.0 L DOHC turbo diesel engine with a capacity to churn out an extremely high peak power of 291 Bhp and a high torque output of 492 Nm. The tremendous acceleration of 0-100 kmph in 6.6 seconds in quite impressive. Installed with a 5-speed manual gear box, the car offers a mileage of 12 kmpl on the city roads and 15 kmpl on the highways. The Evolution X price in India is around Rs 50 lakhs. The Japanese manufacturer’s product line-up in India comprises of Mitsubishi Cedia, Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi Montero and Mitsubishi Pajero.
