Mercedes Benz attains top slot after two years of gap
Mercedes-Benz India, the luxury car maker known for the technology, class and style they affix in its auto mobiles has again achieved its top position. After two years of wait the German auto mobile manufacturer retained its top rank in the domestic auto market and now the auto company is quite confident about its future role in India.
Speaking on the achievement Dr Dieter Zetsche, Board of Management of Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Cars Head and Chairman said that the car sales of the company increased by 30 per cent in 2010. The company is extremely elated with the performance of the auto giant and is looks forward to the future endeavours . He also added that the company raised its sales by 80 per cent in the last year.
In India, Mercedes-Benz lost its top position to its premium rival BMW for two years. However, Mercedes started the FY2011 on a good note as it sold 640 cars registering a hike of 58.81 per cent increase in the sales for this month which is the highest compared to same time last year. BMW was behind its rival as it sold nearly 500 cars in January 2011.
He further added that India is among the top 10 global biggest economies in terms of GDP. Hopefully, the country will attain third position by 2030. He said in the last five years the economy here has raised by eight per cent yearly.
