Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Hits 44,000 Plus Bookings

The Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 was launched on the 16th of October, roughly a month ago and has already gathered close to 45,000 bookings within this short time frame. The new Alto 800 definitely deserves the 'new' prefix as it comes with a host of new changes framed over the old Alto platform. While the old Alto 800 leftover stock and the K10 series are still on the shelves and are being sold alongside the new one, it is the new Alto 800 that is selling like hotcakes. And why shouldn't it? The new Alto 800 comes with improvements in fuel economy, cabin and plastic quality, ride quality and of course the addition of a few new features and gadgets.

In addition to having garnered almost 45,000 bookings, half of the booked Alto 800's have already been delivered. This, of course, comes as no surprise considering Maruti Suzuki's extensive dealer network across India. While the Alto 800 has never really had much in terms of competition, considering its aggressive pricing, excellent fuel economy and the Maruti Suzuki badge at its front, the only other cars capable of providing the Alto 800 any kind of competition are the Hyundai Eon and the Chevrolet Spark. The Alto 800 however still captures majority of the sales in this segment. This, coupled with Maruti Suzuki's success with its other cars like the Dzire, Swift and Ertiga have made the auto maker a force to be reckoned with.
