In addition to an additional screen on the dashboard and a better sound system, the XEV 9e gets a few convenience features over the Harrier EV
The 2025 Tata Harrier EV debuted as the carmaker’s flagship electric SUV recently, which locks horns with the Mahindra XEV 9e. In addition to large battery packs and powerful electric motors, both EVs are filled to the brim with features. While we have covered the features Harrier EV gets over XEV 9e, there are 7 essential amenities the Mahindra rival gets over the flagship Tata EV. Here’s a list of those features:
Triple 12.3-inch screens
The recently launched Tata Harrier EV comes with a dual display setup including a massive 14.5-inch OLED touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. On the other hand, the Mahindra XEV 9e gets triple 12.3-inch screens on the dashboard including a passenger display that is not offered in the Tata rival.
Moreover, such a feature is available from the base-spec Pack One trim of the XEV 9e, while the lower variants of the Harrier EV gets a smaller 10.25-inch infotainment screen.
16-speaker sound system
Not only does the XEV 9e get a superior screen setup, it also gets a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos sound support for a more immersive sound experience. On the other hand, the Harrier EV also gets Dolby Atmos support, but comes with a 10-speaker JBL Black sound system.
Dual wireless phone chargers
While the Tata Harrier EV gets a single wireless phone charger for the front passengers, the XEV 9e goes a step further and offers it for both the front and rear occupants. This feature is available from the higher-spec Pack Three Select variant, while the lower variants are equipped with a single charging pad for the front passengers.
AR-based heads-up display
The Mahindra XEV 9e debuted an artificial reality (AR) based heads-up display (HUD) which, in addition to displaying the speed of the EV, also displays turn-by-turn navigation, current soundtrack, ADAS features and more. The Harrier EV does not get any HUD.

Lighting elements on glass roof
In comparison to the panoramic sunroof offered in the Harrier EV, the Mahindra XEV 9e features a fixed glass roof which cannot be opened. However, Mahindra has affixed some customisable multi-colour lighting elements on it that makes the cabin look more modern, especially at night.
Selfie camera
One of the other things the Mahindra XEV 9e has introduced for the carmaker is a selfie camera, which in addition to monitoring the driver’s attention for enhanced safety, can also be used to attend live video calls and take selfies from inside the EV. While the Harrier EV gets an electronic IRVM and a built-in dashcam, Tata Motors has not included any selfie camera in it.
Flush-type door handles
While flush-type door handles are not a new thing for Tata Motors, as it is available with the Tata Altroz, Curvv and Curvv EV, the Harrier EV gets regular pull-type door handles. On the other hand, the Mahindra XEV 9e gets it from the base variant itself which makes it look sleeker and more modern.
The Harrier EV has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 21.49 lakh, but Tata Motors is yet to reveal its full variant-wise pricing. On the other hand, the Mahindra XEV 9e is priced between Rs 21.90 lakh and Rs 30.50 lakh. Both EVs can be considered an option to the BYD Atto 3 and are a more affordable alternative to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BYD Sealion 7.
All prices are ex-showroom, pan-India
