Mahindra recently launched its latest SUV, the NuvoSport, in the Indian market. Priced at INR 7.35 lakhs, this product has been placed above the TUV300 in the company’s portfolio. Bookings for the SUV have started for a token amount of INR 10,000. The NuvoSport offers several more features than the TUV300, including DRLs and a touchscreen infotainment system.

The engine, however, is a carry forward from the Quanto, but has been worked up to be lighter and more fuel efficient. The revamped Quanto is well equipped to take on the Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport.

Engine wise, the Nuvosport has a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder diesel block, called the mHawk100. It comes paired with a five-speed manual transmission and an optional five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The power figures stand at 100bhp with 240Nm of torque. Also, this engine comes with two drive modes, namely Power and Economy.

This engine is on par with the Ford EcoSport diesel and is more powerful than the Brezza as well as the TUV300. The power generated by the engine will reflect in the driving dynamics of the car, and it is expected to be more fun to drive than its sibling, the TUV300.

Like we said, it comes with a host of features over the TUV300. The car features a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with AUX, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. This system does not supports Mahindra’s Blue Sense application but comes with steering-mounted audio, phone and cruise controls. In terms of safety, the car offers dual front airbags and antiLock braking system + electronic brakeforce distribution (ABS+EBD) from the second to base (N4+) variant.
