Land Rover to commence production of Freelander in India
Within the short span of its entry in Indian car market, the famous British auto manufacturing company Land Rover has decided to start the production of its famous car Land Rover Freelander in India. The reports reveal that the Land Rover has got the support of Tata Motors to establish its plant in India. According to the official sources of the company Tata Motors has provided the space at its manufacturing plant located at Pune, which in the beginning was used by the Mercedes Benz. The Pune Plant of Tata Motors has the capacity of producing 3,500 units every year.

The first model of Land Rover Freelander to be launched by Land Rover will be Land Rover Freelander 2 coming through Completely Knocked Down route. It is expected that the launch of Land Rover Freelander 2 will play an important role in bringing down the sale price of Land Rover Freelander Sticker to 25 lakhs, which at present ranges between Rs. 34.7 lakhs to Rs. 43.9 Lakhs in Mumbai market. The production of Land Rover Freelander 2 at pune plant of Tata Motors is believed to be starting from May 27th, and with support from Tata Motors it is quite sure that Indian car market will become the second home for Land Rover.

According to Mr. Ralf Speth, the newly appointed CEO of Land Rover, according the present scenario it can be said that the coming two to three years will be critical for the company to establish its feet strongly in Indian market. He said that the Tata Motors has been very positive for investing money in company. He also added that every single profit earned will be utilized for the development purpose. The reports reveal that Tata Motors is interested to utilize the technique of Land Rover Freelander mechanism in its upcoming SUV models.
