Jaguar CX 75 electric concept car launched

Jaguar, the luxury car maker from the Tata Motors Group has launched an electric car Jaguar CX 75 at the LA Auto Show. The car can run to 900 kms when charged and the top speed of 320 kms per hour can be achieved. Ian Callum, the design director of Jaguar Cars said that the Christened C-X 75, the luxury electric vehicle has been made a mark of celebration of the company's 75 years of existence. Chairman of Tata Motors, Ratan Tata, said that he liked the design of the car and was excited about the new electric vehicle.

The concept car from Jaguar C-X 75 is not for the retail sale but the company has been receiving inquiries for the car. There are few buyers for the luxury concept car. As per the sources, few potential customers have approached the car since it was introduced.

The car is loaded by 145 kw electric motors at the all wheel and is said to be affixed with pair of micro gas-turbines which is an additional 40 kw of charge which can cover the distance to 900 km. The top most speed is more than 320km/hr which can be achieved in just 3.0 seconds. The concept car has already been showcased at the Paris Auto Show 2010.

Jaguar was taken over by Tata Motors in 2008 with Land Rover. The British brand was running in debts due to recession but in two years the company has not only settled its debts but is also running in profits. Jaguar Cars was also honored with the Asian Guild's Enterprise Award 2010. John Johnson, the Operational Director of Jaguar Cars, was present to receive the award in a ceremony at House of Lords.

Tata Motors is an established car brand which has a noted global presence. The car has established itself as a trusted brand among its customers. The sales of the Tata Motors accelerated up to 18 per cent in October. The sales of the Tata Motors vehicles for April 2010-October 2010 was 598,639 units which has jumped to 44 per cent when compared to the same time, last year.
