Hyundai organizes 6th Happy Move Global Youth Volunteers Camp

Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) is running the ‘6th Happy Move Global Youth Volunteers camp', as a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility program. Students from India and Korea are working together on the social cause of community development. Ninety nine students from Korea have come forward to contribute towards the noble cause.

The camp is scheduled for two weeks in Delhi where the activities are planned around education and renovation. Altogether 19 Students from Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) and the NIILM Center for Management Studies have participated in the camp across project sites at different locations in Delhi – Hope Centre in Tughlakabad, Nirmal Chaya Children's Home Women Short Stay Home at Harinagar and Aanchal School in Chanakyapuri - where they have built and revamped toilets, done area cleaning, constructed childrens' parks, donated school supplies and various other construction repair tasks. Field Services and Intercultural Learning (FSL), an Indian NGO India and International Work camp Organisation (IWO), an NGO from Korea are also associated with the The ‘Happy Move Global Youth Volunteers Camp'.



H W Park, MD CEO, HMIL, said that students of several government schools will be benefited by the initiative as they will get a chance to develop conducive skills. Volunteer Team Leader, D.G. Lee, also added that it has been a great experience for all of them as they learnt a lot about India. He also said that through volunteer work they got a chance to contribute a little towards the local communities. The Happy Move volunteers had recently organized similar camp at Chennai where they were engaged in various CSR activities related to education, environment, renovation and cultural exchange.


The first camp was organized back in July 2008 and is held after every six months. Activities undertaken by the volunteers are construction of play courts, kitchens, libraries, water harvesting systems etc. A street play was performed on February 13, 2011 on traffic rules and environment awareness at the India Gate by these volunteers in association with the NGO YUVA (Youth Unite for Voluntary Action).
