Hyundai Motors has invested a substantial amount of Rs 900 crores on developing the small car. Under no circumstances will the automaker wish to see the entire efforts go into drain. The auto major intends to bring a revolution in the small car segment. The new car is offered in six trims, with a starting price of Rs 2.69 lakhs (ex-showroom) for Hyundai EON D-Lite variant. Hyundai Motors had worked their best to place the Hyundai EON price considerably low to compete against Maruti Alto. The Hyundai EON is powered by a 814 cc petrol engine mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox to generate a peak power of 56 Bhp and a torque of 76 Nm. The car offers an excellent mileage of 21.1 kmpl. Hyundai India is contemplating to introduce an LPG variant in future.

In terms of safety measures, Hyundai Motors has offered the driver side airbags as the only feature in the Hyundai EON Era variant. It is well-known that the airbags costing Rs 45,000 –Rs 60,000 increase the price of the car substantially. The power steering and the power windows are also included in the top variant alone. Maruti India has launched the latest variant Maruti Alto Xplore with the sole intention to fight back against its biggest threat, Hyundai EON. Though many additional features are included on the top Alto variants, K10 VXi and LXi, the airbags are still missing in Alto Xplore. The leading edge Hyundai EON design and interiors are going to put EON in the advantageous position.
