Honda Brio and Mahindra XUV 500 to hit Indian shores tomorrow
This week is going to be exciting for the Indian car market. Two new cars, Honda Brio and Mahindra XUV 500 are set to launch tomorrow. However, both the cars are pretty different from each other. One is Honda’s small car Honda Brio and another one is Mahindra and Mahindra’s SUV, which is Mahindra XUV 500. Both the manufacturers need to play their cards right, as M&M aims to get positioned at a higher rank, whereas Honda needs to keep Honda Brio price affordable and worthwhile. Mahindra and Mahindra's latest flagship is Mahindra XUV 500, which will certainly take over Mahindra Scorpio. The Mahindra XUV 500 price is expected to be around Rs. 12 lakh or above. Mahindra and Mahindra considers is all set to cajole its consumers to buy this brand new SUV.

It is absolutely clear that MM is completely ready to move to a high notch. When Mahindra Scorpio was launched in the Indian car market, it was launched with the price tag ranging from Rs. 7.3 to Rs. 12.24 lakh. Mahindra Scorpio was then followed by Mahindra Xylo and Mahindra Bolero, which were priced very carefully too. Now MM will come up with Mahindra XUV 500, which is much expensive then its previous SUV models. Since beginning, Honda Motors has been sticking to premium car segment, as it introduced Honda Civic, Honda City and Honda Accord. Then Honda came up with Honda Jazz, which was priced near Rs. 7 lakh. Now, to further strengthen its portfolio, Honda Motors is geared up to launch its new product, a small car namely Honda Brio, which would be priced below Rs. 5 lakh.

Honda Motors really need to focus on the pricing factor here, as Honda Brio will only be launched in petrol version. Diesel cars in the Indian car market are being sold like hot cakes because of the sky rocketing petrol prices. Earlier too, Honda City tumbled down from its top position because of the higher petrol prices. Clearly, this time around with Honda Brio, Honda Motors needs to keep the spotlight on the price of the car and should make Honda Brio much more lucrative and affordable. Honda Motors had previously taken some cost reduction measures to lure its consumers.
