Here's our new Endeavour! Ford Says Its Coming to India Next Year

‘Blue Oval’ has revealed the production version of the next-gen 2015 Ford Endeavour/Everest in China today (Endeavour is known as Everest to others). The vehicle is built from scratch and shares nothing with the ongoing SUV and Ford says new seven seater will be launched in 2015 in nine markets from next year that includes - China, Australia, New Zealand, India, and markets across the ASEAN region along with Africa.

Blue Oval’ has revealed the production version of the next-gen 2015 Ford Endeavour/Everest in China today (Endeavour is known as Everest to others). The vehicle is built from scratch and shares nothing with the ongoing SUV and Ford says new seven seater will be launched in 2015 in nine markets from next year that includes - China, Australia, New Zealand, India, and markets across the ASEAN region along with Africa.

For the Asean markets, the vehicle will be manufactured in at AutoAlliance Thailand in Rayong, Thailand while in China it will be manufactured at Ford’s Jiangling Motors Corp (JMC) joint venture

What's new in the 2015 Ford Endeavour/Everest? Pretty much everything!

  • Built on a completely new body-on-frame architecture featuring chiseled and sculpted looks compared to the ongoing boxy old-school looking SUV.
  • Endeavour gets projector headlamps with daytime running LEDs and a large hexagonal grille. The front bumper gets a silver bash guard that also integrates fog lamps. Rear profile gets wrap-around taillamps flanked around a chrome strip with Everest badging. Rear bumper mimics front profile, also feature rear fogs.
  • The vehicle gets a massive ground clearance of 225mm and comes with water-wading capability of 800 mm.
  • On the inside, new Endeavour gets revised dashboard features new steering wheel, instrumentation cluster, second iteration of Ford’s SYNC - SYNC 2 8-inch touchscreen voice controlled infotainment system. The dual-tone Interiors also features ‘Everest’ badging on dash and comes with 30 storage spaces. It also features, Active noise cancellation to filter out the unwanted noises to make cabin quietest as possible.
  • Mechanically, the new 2015 Endeavour/Everest comes latest iteration of the company’s global powertrain - on the diesel front it gets 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel unit along with a 5-cylinder power 3.2-liter TDCI. Petrol version gets a 2.0 liter EcoBoost! (India is expected to get diesel only).
  • Speaking of the transmission, the SUV features six speed manual unit along with six-speed automatic with manual mode, expect both the transmission in India. Moreover, it features shift-on-fly four wheel drive and comes with Terrain Management System sporting - Normal, Snow/Gravel/Grass, Sand and Rock. The vehicle intelligently manage engine dynamics to ensure best possible traction.
  • In terms of safety it offers seven airbags along with several active and passive safety features.
