Ford EcoSport Launch in February 2013-Officials

While most were just guessing the launch dates of the much awaited compact SUV, Ford EcoSport, the company has now officially said that the vehicle will be rolled out in February 2013 from its Chennai based plant.

While most were just guessing the launch dates of the much awaited compact SUV, Ford EcoSport, the company has now officially said that the vehicle will be rolled out in February 2013 from its Chennai based plant. Moreover, the company has also said to start recruiting 1200 employees within this year only under its expansion plans. Brazil is the only market to receive Ford EcoSport ahead of all, now it will be India’s turn.

Joe Hinrichs- Ford’s President of Asia-Pacific, Mr. Michael Boneham – MD of Ford India and Mr. Joginder Singh- Executive director of Ford Business have recently met Tamilnadu’s CM Ms. Jaylalitha and offered her an invitation to take a part in the launch of Ford EcoSport in February 2013 and they also shared the recruitment plans of hiring 1200 new people for the project.

We have recently seen how the newly launched, Renault Duster has been doing wonders for Renault India in terms of sales, the newly launched Quanto as well received a warm welcome, it has already crossed 5000 booking mark within 3 weeks of its launch. So it shows that Indians now have started moving on to big cars as well, and Ford EcoSport being a good looker, having a competitive price and by offering a great mileage with the help of award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, it can certainly turn the tables for Ford in India.
