    Datsun's first vehicle will be called Go!

    Datsun's first vehicle will be called the Go, naming it after the first Datsun's car model, the DAT-GO. Carlos Ghosn, the Renault-Nissan global head announced that the vehicle will be price below Rs 4 lakhs.The DAT in Datsun stands for Dream, Access and Trust.

    Datsun Go

    Datsun will play a crucial part in Nissan's Project 88 in the coming years. Nissan projects a growth of 60 percent in the growing markets like India, China, Brazil, Indonesia and Russia. The Datsun brand that will have localised content products. This will help the company to reduce the pricing of the vehicle and make it competitive.

    Nissan will launch the Datsun Go at the 2014 Auto Expo and it will be on sale in the early half of 2014. The Datsun Go will be powered with the 1.2-litre petrol engine that already powers the Micra and will come mated to the 5-speed manual transmission. The vehicle will be 3785mm in length and will have a wheelbase of 2450mm. This is the same Micra platform, sharing the same wheelbase as well.

    The Datsun GO will have Mobile Docking System to connect their smartphones to the vehicle. The Datsun GO will be the first of several Datsun models that will be launched late in 2014 in Indonesia, Russia and South Africa. For India, the Datsun will be produced at Renault-Nissan's Alliance factory in Chennai.
