Chevrolet Sail U-VA's new Base Diesel Variant PS Launched at Rs 5.29 lakh
Like CarDekho reported you earlier, Chevrolet India would launch a new base variant of the new Sail hatchback back, and today we have the vehicle at Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Called as Sail U-VA PS, the new variant at this price becomes about 30,000 cheaper than the Swift's entry level variant LDI. The company had already updated all the details of the car some days back on its official website, and we were only waiting for the official confirmation, which has finally happened today.

Launched back in the last quarter of 2012, the Sail U-VA was positioned against the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Swift, however it could not do as good as the company expected. So a new base diesel variant is yet another attempt by the GM in India to strengthen its position in the market. The company has also brought the base price of the vehicle about 25,000 lower, while initially it was priced at Rs 4.44 lakh, now the base petrol variant costs 4.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The new base diesel variant of the new Sail hatchback is similar to that of the petrol base variant in terms of features. So the features like ABS, EBD, audio system, airbags, rear wiper and defogger won't be there in the PS variant. Although, it will have some essential features like manually-operated air-conditioner, tilt adjust steering wheel, front power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, fabric seats and remote boot opener, making it a decent buy at a price of Rs 5.29 lakh.
