Chevrolet Beat with SMARTECH engine to be launched on Friday

The newly revealed technologically advanced engine from General Motors, SMARTTECH is now to be seen in the all famous small car Chevrolet Beat. The 1.2-litre SMARTECH engine powered Chevrolet Beat will be launched this Friday. The highly advanced powerterain was revealed by the company recently which will be built locally by the German car maker General Motors India. The supremely designed engine will now power the company's most successful hatchback, Chevrolet Beat.

The company officials were very excited to make the big announcement and Karl Slym who is the President and MD of General Motors India commented that the end of this year will bring a diesel version of Chevrolet Beat in the Indian auto market. Moreover, he also said that 1.2 L engine is a tremendous success of GM Technical Centre-India which is based in Bangalore hands in hand with General Motor's new plant based in Talegaon.

At present the company is busy enhancing the capacity of its Halol Plant based in Gujarat which at present churns out 85,000 units annually. With this expansion plans,the company intends to increase the number to 1 lakh units annually.

Mr. Slym also said that around 5,000 crore investment in made by General Motors in Indian auto market and company is working hard for the betterment of its stakeholders and customers. The year 2010 was simply outstanding for the company by registering a growth of remarkable 60 per cent as against the earlier 30 per cent hike in the lucrative Indian automobile market.
