BMW X6 may soon have competition
The competition between the three top German car manufacturers is hotting up with Mercedes-Benz deciding to launch an entirely new Mercedes-Benz model to attack on BMW X6. The German Triad Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have been competing for supremacy in the luxury car segment since eternity and this news is just another addition to this league. The company sources have confirmed that this new crossover coupe will roll off production lines by 2015 and will be built in the United States of America. As is known USA has been a market for BMW, Audi and even Mercedes-Benz.

According to reports Mercedes Benz has invested considerably in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant almost $350 million where this new SUV will be manufactured. It will be called GLS and will inherit a lot from the CLS sedan. As for the seating capacity GLS will seat four and not five which is the usual seat configurations. If sources are to be believed this coupe will have a bigger V8 motor and frugal diesel in the form of a V6. Later, Mercedes-Benz can even launch a hotter AMG version based on the standard GLS. If we talk about the Indian Market BMW has been very successful in India. Here it has beaten Mercedes-Benz even after being a late entrant into the fray. The car maker sells the BMW X6 in India and soon expectation is that the new Mercedes-Benz GLS may also make its way into Indian luxury car market. Though, it will be in a five-seater guise.
