BMW to showcase new X3 & X4 at 2014 Moscow International Automobile Salon

German auto major BMW will showcase the updated X3 and X4 at the 2014 Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS). The well known motoring event would take place from August 29 to September 7th at the Crocus Expo IEC exhibition centre.

The BMW X4 is the fifth model in the BMW X line-up. The Sports Activity Coupe (SAC), as BMW calls it, boasts a body design that combines the power and presence of a BMW X model with the sporting elegance of a classical BMW Coupe. The new BMW X4 offers a range of powerful engines, plus the standard provision of xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive including Performance Control. The car features 18-inch light-alloy wheels and variable sports steering. The rear seats of the car comes with a 40 : 20 : 40 split/folding option, which allows the boot capacity to increase in stages from 500 to 1,400 litres, and it also comes as standard with automatic tailgate operation.

Coming to the younger sibling, the new BMW X3 comes with revised appearance and optional LED headlights. Along with the exterior changes, the car also comes with new petrol and diesel engines, ranging in output from 150 bhp to 313 bhp. All these mills under the hood of X3, meet the EU6 exhaust emissions standard. The fuel consumption of the updated X3 in the EU test cycle, came out as 4.7–8.3 l/100 km, while the CO2 emissions stood at 124–193 g/km.

Apart from the new X3 and X4, the 2014 Moscow International Automobile Salon (MIAS) will witness the brand’s entire model line-up in all its diversity. The motoring show will also host the presentation of new services from BMW ConnectedDrive, which can be used via a SIM card integrated into the car.
