BMW to Roll Out X2 to Rival Audi Q2
The entry-level SUV among the upcoming even-numbered Audi SUV range, Q2 is expected to break covers somewhere in 2014 and to rival this, the German auto giant ruling the luxury car segment across the globe is also working on the introduction of BMW X2 in 2014. The company had recently registered a number of tradenames and X2 is one among them for which enough grapevines have ripened that this will be a sloping roofline version of the much favored BMW X1. An artistic rendering of the possible production model of the X2 by Roger Lighterness has been provided which is sure to feed the anticipations.

The design philosophy in the rendering is pretty much inspired by the X range of BMW SUVs which is quite logical. If we are to believe the rumors doing rounds at an earlier time, the final model will be flaunting sportier and more dynamic coupe like body styling. According to the insiders of the company, the X2 would be more like a cross between the Z and the X models; also the car might be made on the similar lines of the 2001 introduced original X Coupe concept and styling. The official confirmation regarding the production of the BMW X2 has not been made yet as the focus is currently directed on development of the BMW X4 which is a larger model. The BMW-Audi rivalry is not a hidden one and the introduction of this car is sure to trigger some more waves.
