9 Times in a Row: Mahindra Bolero at top of SUV sales

Bolero from India’s leading SUV manufacturer, Mahindra, has retained its top spot of the largest selling SUV in India for the 9th consecutive time. The tough off-roader also clocked over 1,00,000 units in 2014-15, which is the 4th time in a row. This makes the Bolero the only SUV to land in the top 10 selling passenger cars.

Mr. Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. addressed the occasion, “The fact that the Bolero has sold more than 100,000 units in FY2015 and retained its position as the country’s No. 1 SUV, signifies the confidence consumers have in the brand. Over the years, the Bolero has evolved with the changing lifestyle aspirations of customers. I am sure that the Bolero will continue to be as popular on Indian roads in the years to come”.

Mr. Shah’s above quote could easily be related to Mahindra’s strategy with Bolero as there is a latest iteration headed our way. The nex-gen Bolero have been spotted testing several times and will be much more modern than the current one. It will be an all new vehicle at the inside, outside, under the bonnet and the technology that it will use. The upcoming SUV is codenamed U301.

When it comes to Mahindra, it has always taken good care of their products. They have brought in facelifts, technological upgrades, interior updates, all at right times. A few examples are Scorpio, Bolero, Thar all paid them their effort.
