    2015 Porsche Cayenne revealed

    After being spied for multiple times in the recent past, Porsche has finally taken the wraps off the facelifted Cayenne before its official debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. On the cards are a couple of new variants- a plug-in hybrid and a new S model with a turbo-charged V6 unit.

    In terms of styling updates, the 2015 Cayenne comes with several tweaks, especially at the front. The changes include a larger front-grille, redesigned bumper incorporating more blades in the air ducts for better cooling, revised front wings, as-well-as grown-up hood, which provides the vehicle a bolder stance.

    With Diesel, S and S E-Hybrid versions, Bi-xenon headlights comes as standard while the Turbo model offers LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). The rear gets new angular tail-lamps, updated tailgate and exhaust pipes installed redesigned bumper.

    No images of the interiors have been released, however the new standard-fit multi-function sports steering wheel and paddle shifters, same as the 918 Spyder, are expected to arrive.

    Under the hood, the Cayenne S comes equipped with a new 3.6-litre bi-turbo V6 engine, rated at 414 bhp and 550 Nm of peak torque. The unit comes as a replacement for the earlier naturally-aspirated 4.8-litre V8. The vehicle sprints 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and is capable of achieving a top speed of 259 km/h.

    Whereas the Cayenne S E-Hybrid, is powered by a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 with 339 bhp working in collaboration with an electric motor, which is independently good for 94 bhp and churns out 416 PS and 590 Nm in combination. This hardware setup let the vehicle touches 0-100km/h in just 5.9 seconds and tops up to 243 km/h. It boasts a 10.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack granting an all-electric range from 18 to 36 km.

    The Cayenne Turbo, meanwhile, gets 513 bhp and 750 Nm from its 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8. With 0- 100 km/h taking no more than 4.5 seconds flat out. While the Cayenne Diesel, gets 258bhp-3.0-litre V6 that does 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and hit 137mph.

    The 2015 Porsche Cayenne facelift will hit the US roads in the month of November, with an Indian launch following soon thereafter.
