Maruti Brezza

• I feel that the Brezza’s design is appealing to most people, due to its traditional look and conventional SUV shape.

• It is wide and tall which makes it look like a big car, even though it is a sub 4 metre SUV.

• Maruti offers it with a full LED lighting setup, including LED projector headlamps, which have separate bulbs for low and high beam.

• The LED DRLs stand out due to their dual L-shaped lighting elements on either side.

• The side profile is where you notice its height and chunky cladding, adding a dash of ruggedness to this design.

• The top-spec ZXi and ZXi+ variants get 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Lower LXi and VXi variants come with 16-inch steel wheels.

• Its rear end gets sleek and horizontal LED tail lamps, which further highlight its width.

• Maruti offers it in 7 monotone shades: Sizzling Red, Brave Khakhi, Exuberant Blue, Magma Grey, Splendid Silver, Pearl Arctic White, and Bluish Black.

• Sizzling Red and Splendid Silver are available in a dual-tone shade with a Bluish Black roof, and Brave Khakhi gets its dual-tone shade with a Pearl Arctic White roof.

Design & Quality

• Brezza gets a dual-tone black and brown cabin theme which does make the cabin feel upmarket.

• More contrast is added by brushed aluminum elements on the dashboard and centre console, along with subtle gloss black touches.

• It also gets blue ambient lighting which adds another touch of premiumness. But, a multi-colour lighting setup would have been better.

• However, the quality sets no benchmark, as the glovebox rattles, plastics are scratchy, and the sunroof shade doesn’t fit properly.

Driving Position

• The Brezza‘s seats have soft cushioning so you can easily sit here for both short and long journeys.

• There is enough space for tall people and the contours also provide good support.

• You get tilt and telescopic adjustment in the ZXi and ZXi+ variants, along with height adjustable driver seats from the VXi variant, so finding your ideal driving position is easy.

• Due to the height of the car, you get a commanding driving position, and good visibility as well.

Passenger Comfort

• Front passengers get a centre armrest, which is useful in longer journeys.

• Its rear seat is wide enough to fit three people and offers plenty of knee room, legroom, and headroom.

• However, the middle passenger does sit slightly upright with some shoulder overlap with the outboard passengers, and misses out on a headrest.

• Nonetheless, it is one of the few cars in its segment which can be used as a proper 5-seater.

Storage Options

• All four doors of the Brezza get 1-litre bottle holders and some space on the side for small items.

• Front passengers get two cupholders in the centre console and the rear passengers get two in the centre armrest.

• There is a cooled glovebox, storage in the centre armrest, seatback pockets, and a tray under the climate control buttons which doubles as a wireless phone charger.

• Charging options include a wireless phone charger, a 12V socket, and a USB port in the front. Rear passengers get a USB port and a Type-C port.

Features

• The 2025 Brezza’s feature list is not as extensive as some of its rivals, but it gets all the basics and daily use features.

• It comes with a 9-inch touchscreen which runs smoothly and has large icons which makes it easy to use and understand. However, the user interface feels outdated.

• This screen also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which run lag free.

• To charge your phone, you get a wireless phone charger among other options, but it isn’t particularly effective.

• There is a heads-up display as well, which shows information such as digital speedometer, tachometer, gear indicator, and cruise control display.

• It comes with a 360-degree camera which has a clear feed with no frame drop. However, you can’t move the 3D view by hand, and there is no blind view monitor.

• Other features include single-pane sunroof, cruise control, push button start/stop, electrically adjustable ORVMs with auto fold, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, and a 6-speaker ARKAMYS sound system.

• The 2025 Brezza comes with standard safety features like 6 airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

• Higher variants also get a rearview camera and the top-spec ZXi+ variant comes with a 360-degree camera setup.

• The Maruti Brezza was crash tested at Global NCAP back in 2023, and it came out with a strong 4-star safety rating.

• Brezza gets a 328-litre boot space, which is not large on paper, but due to its shape, it can easily accommodate large suitcases.

• Here, you can fit an entire suitcase set (large, medium, and small) along with one or two smaller soft bags.

• For keeping more luggage, you can fold the rear seats down as they come with a 60:40 split.

• Brezza is offered with a single 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which comes with a mild hybrid setup. This engine is available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

• Maruti also offers it with a factory fitted CNG kit, but that is available only with a manual transmission.

• This engine is pretty refined and delivers a smooth performance with less vibrations.

• While accelerating, the car speeds up progressively and can go to 60-80 kmph with ease.

• Since it is a naturally aspirated engine, it gives you a relaxed city drive experience, but there won’t be any excitement in your drives.

• However, the mild hybrid setup does provide strong crawl speed performance, which adds convenience when you’re driving in city traffic.

• While the city drives are effortless, highway drives are where you feel the lack of power.

• Overtakes will require some planning and occasionally you’ll have to downshift in order to overtake if you’re travelling with more load.

• Apart from the manual, it also gets a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

• It offers smooth gear shifts and can also downshift two gears if you need to quickly overtake someone.

• Out of the two, we’d recommend the automatic for its smooth and convenient drive, but it will come at the price premium of Rs 1.4 lakh.

• As for fuel efficiency, both transmissions claim close to 20 kmpl with the mild hybrid setup. The base and one-above-base manual variants have a lower claimed mileage of around 18 kmpl.

Brezza CNG

• The CNG offers a similar drive experience in the city, and you won’t notice the lower power output in your regular city drives.

• But once you’re on the highway, the lack of power will become evident, and you’ll feel like you have to push the car to reach higher speeds.

• But, the trade-off is a claimed fuel efficiency of over 25 km/kg, which is good if you travel on the highway a lot.

• Brezza offers a comfortable ride quality along with good handling on corners.

• Passengers do not feel most of the potholes, and they are well insulated.

• Sharper and deeper potholes are felt inside the cabin, but the SUV makes sure no sudden jerk is felt.

• Even at higher speeds such at 100 kmph, Brezza remains stable and handles undulations well.

• The 2025 Brezza is available in 4 variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+.

• CNG is available in all variants except ZXi+, and automatic transmission is offered from the VXi variant onwards.

Maruti Brezza LXi Variant

• Brezza gets LED tail lamps, rear spoiler, halogen projector headlamps, and 16-inch steel wheels in the base variant.

• Feature list includes keyless entry, manual AC with rear AC vents, tilt steering adjustment, and electrically adjustable ORVMs.

• Safety kit comprises 6 airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Maruti Brezza VXi Variant

• Over the base variant, VXi gets a height adjustable driver seat, adjustable rear seat headrests, electrically foldable ORVMs, and automatic climate control.

• It also gets a 7-inch touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include steering mounted controls and a 4-speaker sound system.

• The only addition in the safety kit is a rear defogger.

• This is the entry level automatic variant if you want a more convenient drive experience.

Maruti Brezza ZXi Variant

• This variant gets cosmetic upgrades like 16-inch painted alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, roof rails, and dual-tone colour options.

• Interior upgrades include chrome door handles, luggage lamp, and footwell illumination.

• It also gets more features like an electric sunroof, cruise control, telescopic steering adjustment, and push button start/stop.

• Infotainment upgrades include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 6-speaker ARKAMYS sound system, and a voice assistant.

• The safety kit gets a rearview camera along with a rear wiper and washer.

Maruti Brezza ZXi+ Variant

• The top-spec variant comes with 16-inch machined alloy wheels, front fog lamps, and auto headlamps with follow me home function.

• This variant gets a bigger 9-inch touchscreen along with other features like a wireless phone charger, front sliding armrest, cooled glovebox, and auto folding ORVMs.

• The safety kit gets a big improvement with a 360-degree camera.

CarDekho Recommends

• Go for the one-above-base VXi variant if you want a big and spacious SUV on a budget. It covers all the basics and daily use features, and has a decent infotainment package as well. This variant has the option of both CNG and automatic powertrains.

• If you want more features, the ZXi variant will be a good option. It gets a better looking exterior along with a more extensive feature and safety package. Go for the top-spec ZXi+ variant only if you want a better infotainment package.

The Maruti Brezza offers a good blend of design, features, comfort and performance, and it does that while staying on a budget. While there are better options in the market, Brezza’s value for money packaging, along with the space it offers, makes it a good choice for those looking to switch from a smaller hatchback or sedan.

Yes, the feature package could have been better, considering the price and what rivals offer, and the cabin quality needs improvements too. But, it is still a good product that makes sense for a lot of people.
