Volvo to order the return of 10,000 cars and other vehicles

Volvo, the automobile major of Sweden will order the return of it’s 9,746 vehicles for securely placing the side front airbag of the driver. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) said that the company will be doing so because there are chances that these front airbags might not open during the time of an accident. 

There might be a temporary discontinuance fault in the airbag clockspring wiring connector of the driver for completing the restraint system. This might stop the airbag from its proper opening and in turn, providing a risk upon the protection of the the driver at the time of the crash. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, if the bag is not able to deploy at the right time than there is a definite possibility of increased risk of injuries. The models which have the risk of such possibility include Volvo 2010, Volvo S80 2011, Volvo XC70, Volvo V70 2010 and Volvo XC60 2011. Now what the dealers would be doing is that they will fix a metal plate in the clockspring wiring connector of the driver’s airbag free of charge. This recall which will involve the safety precaution will start on 29th October, 2010. It will involve the recall of 9,746 vehicles.
