Volkswagen Touareg Launched at Rs. 58.5 lakh
Where all car makers are launching their vehicles with pomp and show, Volkswagen quietly brought in their SUV, Touareg to India. The vehicle will be available at a price of Rs. 58.5 lakh, ex- showroom New Delhi and the sales will start end of September. The previous version of the Volkswagen SUV was available at Rs. 51.85 lakh, ex showroom New Delhi.

The vehicle comes equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine mated to 8-speed automatic transmission, which churns out a maximum power of 241.6bhp at 3800-4400rpm and delivers a peak torque of 550Nm at 1750-2250rpm. The ARAI certified mileage that Touareg returns with is 12.08kmpl. Commenting on the occasion Mr. Arvind Saxena, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “India is a key market for our overall strategic growth plans and we are sure that the launch of the best products will affirm our commitment to provide the latest technologies and high value to our Indian customers.”
He further added that the Touareg has been well accepted in India owing to its off-roading capabilities and with the new generation of the SUV, the consumers can look forward to an even better experience. The new Touareg will come with 18inch ‘Karakum’ alloy wheels, roof rails, and panoramic sunroof along with Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights. It will come in 7 smart colors - Pure White, Deep Black, Cool Silver metallic, Night Blue metallic, Graciosa Brown metallic, Galapagos anthracite metallic and Campanella White.
Inside, it comes loaded with ‘Vienna’ leather upholstery, two piece front center armrest and a movable storage compartment along with ‘Premium’ Multifunction display. It also gets ‘Vavona’ ornamental wood decorative inserts for the dashboard, door trim panels and center console. The all new Touareg comes with smart functions like the Climatronic AC with 4 zone temperature control for the perfect cooling, RCD 550 with MP3 and MP4 compatibility and integrated 6CD-changer & 8 speakers and 14-way electrically adjustable front seats.
To make the drivability more comfortable, the Volkswagen Touareg features 4 corner air-suspensions with electronic shock absorption control, Cruise Control, Auto Hold, Electrically adjustable lumbar support for front seats, Automatic headlamp activation with ‘Coming home’ and ‘Leaving home’ function and Park distance control. The SUV also comes with galore of safety features like the Electronic Stability Control (ESP), ABS with brake assistant, ASR and EDL & EDTC. It comes with Driver & Passenger airbags along with side airbags front with curtain airbags for front & rear passengers.The new Touareg will have a permanent all-wheel drive ‘4 motion’ with self locking center differential, electronic immobilizer etc.
