Volkswagen to introduce a mid-size coupe at Beijing Motor Show

Volkswagen to reveal mid-size coupe concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The design study revealed indicates the coupe could be the next vehicle in the VW's compact line-up; likely to be in the form of Jetta CC. But it is certainly better styled. As per the company, dimensionally the four door coupe concept is shorter in length than the Jetta while wider than the Passat model. It measures 1422mm in height, 4597mm in length and 1838 mm in width. Also, it gets shorter overhangs on either sides which makes the overall appearance more aggressive and muscular.

The concept's design team led by brand's design chief Klaus Bischoff has designed the model which sits on 20-inch wheels, low sloping roof and shorter rear overhangs.

Under the hood, there could be a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine churning 220bhp of power. With this the car takes just 6.5seconds to reach from 0-100kmph mark and achieve a top speed of 245kmph. More details would be available as the concept reaches close to its unveiling at the Beijing Motor Show.
