Volkswagen Phaeton to hit Indian roads by March 2010

Volkswagen, Eurpope’s largest carmaker is all set to launch its premium flagship product in India by March 2010. The Volkswagen Phaeton offers high end luxury features along with top notch technology and pure quality. VW India believes that the Phaeton can be a great brand builder for the Volkswagen brand in India. The Phaeton is equipped with 3.6 L V6 petrol engine which pumps out power of 280 Bhp@ 6250 rpm and maximum torque of 370Nm @ 3500rpm. The car is expected with a price tag of Rs 75 Lakhs (Ex- showroom, Delhi). Volkswagen Phaeton will compete against the likes of the Audi A8, Mercedes Benz S-Class and the BMW 7 Series.

For safety features Phaeton is equipped with airbags, ABS and anti-theft alarm system. The car is also facilitated with a 6 speed tiptronic gearbox and17 inch alloy wheels.
