Duster gets its most substantial update with a host of feature additions in the 2016 facelift!

Aesthetics

People appreciate the muscular and SUV-ish looks of the Duster, but over the years, the flamboyance quotient has declined. With this updated Duster, Renault has spruced up the Duster. The new grille and subtly redesigned bumper makes it looks relatively younger and of course how can we miss the headlamps with re-adjusted double barrel setup with daytime running lights.

It rides on new gun metal finish alloys with machined surfaces. The roof rails get a ‘Duster’ branding, while the variant badging now rests on the front fenders. Besides redesigned rear bumper, the taillamps offer new graphics along with LED lighting! Moreover, one can not miss the new ‘Cayenne Orange’ shade!

Besides its external stylistic updates, the cabin went through a major overhaul. The dashboard has an identical layout with the previous one. The center console is new including Duster badging along with soft touch materials, have spruced up the cabin. Renault has also added sportier upholstery and colour pallets to its interiors.

Drivability and Safety

Renault has stated that it has some new ‘CMO10’ engine compartment - which has certainly has strengthened its structure. Again, the new T4 ‘Electrical and Electronics’ has further improved the drivability of Duster.

Comfort and ergonomics

To begin with, Duster finally offers an automatic climate control unit. The Renault MediaNav 7-inch unit has been upgraded and it comes with a needed option of a reverse camera with guidelines. The driver’s window now comes with an auto-up/down. Coming to the ergonomics, the electronically adjustable ORVMs knob has been shifted to the door pad and ORVMs now offer side repeaters and they are auto foldable. It also has a driver’s armrest amongst others.

Mechanical Upgrades

2016 Duster will now offer an automatic option with its 110 PS diesel motor, this makes it the second compact SUV in the segment, after Creta, to offer an AT option. Duster comes with Renault/Dacia’s Easy-R automated manual transmission based on its 6-Speed manual unit. Rest has remained unaltered.
