After enjoying relative success with the Tiago in India, Tata Motors launched the hatchback in Nepal on Monday at a base price of 22.5 lakh Nepalese Rupees (ex-showroom Kathmandu), the equivalent of Rs 14.1 lakh. The company also flagged off bookings for the car that will appear at the NADA Auto Show in Nepal from Tuesday.

On the occasion, international business head for Tata passenger vehicles, Johnny Oommen said, “This globally benchmarked car, represents the next big leap in our transformation journey and we are confident that Tiago’s strong and distinct character will make it stand out in this highly popular but immensely competitive segment.”

The company, according to a press release, is also paying special attention to its customer service engagements. Through the Tata Motors Connect mobile app, the Indian carmaker will enable customers to stay connected at all times. Other facilities include 48-hour repair guarantee and round-the-clock customer assistance centres, added the release.

The international launch of the Tiago comes in after a spell of reasonable success for the car in India. After consistently clocking monthly sales figures of around 5,000 units, the car also helped Tata Motors to register a remarkable 43 percent growth in July this year. The Tata Indica successor also finished among the top 20 selling cars last month and is available with a waiting period of two-three months.
