Steel Strips Wheels mandated by Volkswagen to supply wheels

A big deal has been cracked between Europe's largest car manufacturer Volkswagen and Chandigarh-based Steel Strips Wheels (SSWL). As per Steel Strips Wheels, it will supply rims to Volkswagen's manufacturing plants in Germany and Argentina for  the production of its commercial vehicles. And this contract will continue till five years. As per the deal between Steel Strips Wheels and Volkswagen it will supply 100,000 wheels per year with a foreign exchange earning of over 1.7 million Euros per year.

The German auto giant Volkswagen comes in worlds largest vehicle manufacturing companies which produces cars to heavy duty vehicles in it's Germany based and Argentina based facilities. The company also has good market share in the Indian auto market with its latest technology loaded cars. Presently Volkswagen is providing 7 reliable and value for money cars in India at competitor price range. It most popular cars are Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Vento, Volkswagen Jetta and Volkswagen Passat, Volkswagen Beetle is also available in Indian domestic market. In Indian market Volkswagen Polo is its newly launched hatchback which is major competitor to Ford Figo.

On the other hand Steel Strips Wheels is reporting surprising growth in its business. It has produced 0.92 million wheels in the financial year of 2010-10 as against 0.46 million wheels in financial year 2009-10. And now the company is expecting good growth in the coming years. Meanwhile Audi is also its another largest wheels purchaser.
