Spotted! 2012 Mahindra Xylo mHawk 4WD

It is a common knowledge by now that the new Mahindra Xylo MPV will be launched right in January, if not at the Auto Expo. But, a recently spotted 2012 Mahindra Xylo in Pune brings us more news on what to expect from the revamped version. The mEagle 2.2 L diesel powertrain just as in Mahindra Scorpio comes more of a surprise than anything else when the MPV already has enough engine options to begin with. The spotted MPV was definitely a four-wheel drive variant carrying the all new sheen on the exteriors to make one wonder if this spotted car actually meant for the international markets.

Here is why the question popped up in the mind to begin with. Following the success of the Mahindra Xylo, the car manufacturer now has enough number of this MPV units exported to the other parts of the world. The consumers in India are anyhow aware of the mDI 2.5 L diesel powertrain that it carries under the hood more meant for the BSIII cities. Then came the new mEagle 2.5 L diesel engine to power the Mahindra Xylo MPV with a power output of 112 Bhp and 260 Nm of torque.

However, now that Mahindra and Mahindra has decided to come up with the makeover, it was generally assumed that the revamp will be more along the exteriors just like its closest rival Toyota Innova has been offered with. But, the spotted Mahindra Xylo mHawk 4WD model will definitely beg us to think again as this could be what the renowned utility manufacturer might be mulling for the Indian market after all. However, the fact remains that the new Mahindra Xylo MPV might not be up for the launch at the Indian Auto Expo while SsangYong’s two SUVs Rexton and Korando E will be there to grab the limelight.
