Spied! Ssangyong Rexton in Nasik

At the Auto Expo 2012, New Delhi, Mahindra revealed its much anticipated collaboration with Ssangyong and introduced 4 new Ssangyong vehicles there. Out of these four vehicles, Rexton SUV got an awesome response. Recently, Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton was caught during its testing session on the roads of Nasik, Maharashtra. Mahindra has been planning since a long time to bring in the Ssangyong vehicles to India and with the cars being displayed at the Auto Expo 2012 and Rexton being found on the roads of India during its test run have given a green signal that it will be launched in the country very soon.

According to the fresh reports, Mahindra and Mahindra has been thinking of expanding its manufacturing plant in Nasik and the production of Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton might be one of the reasons of expansion. The new Ssangyong Rexton holds the ‘Ssangyong’ and ‘Rexton’ badge with complete proud. Apparently, the Mahindra Rexton is basically built on the old Mercedes-Benz M Class platform, which ensures an awesome riding experience on the rough Indian terrains. Under the hood, Mahindra Ssangyong is powered by 2.7 litre of five cylinder turbo diesel engine, which keeps the capacity to churn out 180 PS of peak power and would deliver an impressive mileage.

Besides the power diesel engine, this new SUV will also be jam-packed with numerous features, which would make it a value-for-money SUV. When enquired about the pricing details about the car, Mahindra and Mahindra decided to be tight-lipped here. However, one can assume that with such a big competition in the SUV segment of Indian auto market, the price of Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton will be placed competitively.
