Renault Duster SUV to arrive in India by October 2012
Renault had plans to bring its much awaited under 10 lakh SUV, Renault Duster in India by the mid of this year. But the plans of launch have been delayed a bit and now Renault Duster SUV is likely to arrive in the Indian car market by October 2012. The reason behind the delay in the launch is still a mystery. But rumor has it that Renault is willing to expand its dealership network in the country prior to bring in the high class SUV. Therefore, one could expect a Diwali launch from Renault India.

Renault Duster is a five seater SUV, which is likely to be placed between the yet-to-be launched sedan (based on Nissan Sunny) and Renault Fluence sedan. Apparently, the company will bring the SUV in both diesel and petrol engine options. The petrol variant of Renault Duster will come with 1.6 litre of powerful motor, while the diesel variant of the SUV will feature 1.5 litre of K9K turbo diesel engine. Furthermore, the petrol engine will produce peak power of 85 BHP and 200 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine will churn out 105 BHP of power and 240 Nm of maximum torque.

Also, there are rumors that Renault Duster SUV could be launched in front wheel drive option while the all wheel drive variant could be launched afterwards. Renault Duster SUV will directly compete with Ford EcoSport Crossover, which would come by the end of 2012 or by the beginning of 2013. Both Duster and EcoSport Crossover signify the growing demand of SUVs in the Indian car market.
