Renault Duster Launches at Rs. 7.19 Lakh
The wait is over and curtains have been raised, critics have been silenced and competitors are standing with eyes wide open… The Big, the beautiful, the efficient Renault Duster finally saw the daylights amidst the ‘who’s who’ of the auto industry. Like we mentioned in our previous coverage, the launch will be a multi-city phased launch and the first phase has taken place today at New Delhi. Mumbai and Hyderabad are on the cards as well for this phase. To noone’s surprise, the Duster launched with diesel and petrol variants. The Renault Duster price starts from Rs. 7.19 Lakh for the base petrol variant.

The RxE and RxL petrol variant are 1.6-litre, multi-point fuel injection 1598cc engine which delivers an approximate power of 101bhp at 5850rpm and a torque of 145Nm at 3750rpm. On the other hand the RxE and RxL diesel variants are 4-cylinder 1.5dCi engine with a displacement of approximately 85bhp at 3750rpm and a peak torque of 200Nm at 1900rpm. These four engines mentioned above, are all mated to 5-speed manual transmission. Duster is also available with a 6-speed manual transmission in RxL and RxZ diesel variants. This RxL 1.5dCi delivers a power of 110bhp approximately and a torque of 248Nm at 2250rpm which is similar to what the RxZ, top of the range model is capable of.
The SUV however is small but in terms of looks, it’s second to none. With double barrel headlights, two-tone colored bumpers, radiator grille finish, stylish roof rails, door side sill, rear wipe and wipers, sporty 16inch aluminum alloy wheels, chrome exhaust pipe finisher and body colored outside door mirrors, Duster has looks to kill. The Safety features like ABS along with EBD and Brake Assist, speed sensing door locks, dual front airbags make Renault Duster a complete SUV.
To further enhance the features of the Duster is the commendable mileage that it delivers, the claimed mileage of the Petrol version is approximately 13kmpl, diesel 84bhp will deliver 20kmpl and the diesel 108bhp will be capable of 19kmpl. And making the compact SUV more desirable is the 2+2 years or 80,000kms (whichever comes first), best-in-class warranty.
